I had desire to pursue my career as a development practitioner. However, my desire was not concrete enough to turn into a ‘plan’. I decided to spend time in Southeast Asia, where I started thinking of such career. Without a clear travel plan, a return ticket was only the thing that restricted me there. I popped in many places on the way and saw villagers, backpackers and children. Life in Southeast Asia looked much more relaxed than I thought, and people looked happy although they did not have as high income as we did in ‘developed countries’. “It must be fun if I could work with them for their country’s development.” I ended up with a resolve to work with them someday.
